Have you ever taken a moment to reflect on the people you spend the most time with?
Who do you surround yourself with, and more importantly, how do your interactions with them leave you feeling?
We’re deeply influenced by our environment, and the people in our lives shape our energy more than we often realise. If you find yourself spending time with those whose habits don't align with your values, who leave you feeling heavy or drained rather than uplifted, it might be time to gently re-evaluate those relationships.
It’s Okay to Outgrow People
This isn’t about judgment. We all have flaws. Every single one of us is still learning, still growing, still evolving. But if someone consistently pulls you off your path, through negativity, gossip, or unsupportive behaviour, they might not be meant to walk beside you right now.
Sometimes we outgrow people, and that’s okay. Not everyone is meant to be with us for the entire journey. Some relationships are seasonal, and if we're meant to reconnect down the line, life has a way of bringing people back together.
You Can Still Be Kind, and Choose Distance
Setting boundaries doesn’t mean cutting people out with harshness or resentment. It means choosing to protect your peace. If someone close to you isn’t aligning with your values, you can lovingly create space.
Redirect the conversation when it turns negative. Be clear that you're choosing not to dwell in that energy. Honour your capacity. Honour your nervous system.
Keeping some people at arm’s length, or even letting them go entirely, doesn’t make you unkind. It makes you self-aware. It makes you someone who values their energy, and who leads with intention.
You Deserve Peace
You deserve peace.
You deserve support.
You deserve to feel safe in your relationships.
You deserve to feel uplifted and inspired by the people around you.
Surround yourself with people who radiate joy, who speak life into you, who make your soul feel warm. Surround yourself with people who feel like an extension of the life you’re creating and the values you hold within yourself.
